The M-48 MOD-1 is the next generation of the popular original M-48 mask.

It still features the unique 2-cavity design. This allows the lower pod to be removed while at the surface to conserve air and enables normal speech during the dive. It can also be used with a variety of different communication systems.

The lower pod can also be removed underwater to allow gas switching and gas sharing in emergency situations. The evolution of the mask has resulted in increased visibility, an improved buckle system, a mechanical equalization device, and a variety of options for mounting external components (lights, cameras, etc.).

All components have been reinforced to bring this mask to a commercial level of durability that you will not find in ANY other lightweight full face mask.

• CE Approved: The Mod-1 is CE approved.
• Operational specifications and limitations: The full face mask has been tested and complies with performance requirements as established in Annex II of Directive 89/686/EEC and, where applicable, EN 250:2000 and EN 250/A1:2006. It is CE marked with the adjustable plastic 2nd stage regulator Kirby Morgan SuperFlow Ref. 805-120 or the balanced diving regulator Ref. 200-120.
• Surface-supplied open circuit: The mask must only be used for surface-supplied diving by divers trained and qualified in surface-supplied techniques and procedures. A fully functional emergency gas supply system and body harness must always be used when diving the Mod-1 or any KMDSI full face mask model in surface-supplied mode. When used in countries complying with CE standards, the mask must only be used with CE-certified components. The recommended maximum depth for recreational open-circuit scuba diving with the Mod-1 is 130 FSW (39 msw).
